The Beaches of Espoo
There are over 30 public beaches in the city of Espoo. Here are pictures and other information about all of them. So if're wondering where can you go to swim in Helsinki Region, here you can find some hints.
Beaches in Espoo: Luukki
Luukki Beach is located in the Luukkaa outdoor area in North Espoo. Although it is in Espoo, it is actually part of the Helsinkis outdoor area.
The Beaches of Espoo: Nuottalahti
On Nouttalahti you can find a small, unofficial beach on the seashore. Espoos 40 kilometres long seashore walkway goes through this beach.
The Beaches of Espoo: Small swimming place of Hannusjärvi
Hannusjärvi is a small lake on southern parts of Espoo. The isn't an official beach there. But on the western side of the lake there is a small pier that local use.
The Beaches of Espoo: Laaksolahti
The beach of Laaksolahti is located on the shoores of Pitkäjärvi. The beach looks small, but is surprisingly big. There is a a volleyball court, basketball arena, childrens playground and other services nearby.

Just outside the continen, neasby Wested, there is a small island named Varsasaari. It is an outdor island full of small cottages. The island is owned by the city of Helsinki (even though it is in Espoo).

Smalle beach if Kivenlahti is in the middle of quite a big neighborhood in the southern Espoo, by the seaside. The Beach is unofficial, and it actually doesn't even have official name. But the are where it is located is ofted calle Amfi (from amfitheater).

Westend Beach is located in southern Espoo, near Länsiväylä. There is some 4-5 kilometers from here to the center of Helsinki.

There isn't actually a swimming beach in Nuottaniemi, but there are three small "sandy spots" from within you can get into the sea. So this is not an official or maintained beach.

There are two beaches in Kaitalampi. Actually they aren't "beaches", but more like "places that you can go to swim." Lake is deep and if I remember correctly the correct word in english is crag.
