The Beaches of Espoo: Luukki
Luukki Beach is located in the Luukkaa outdoor area in North Espoo. Although it is in Espoo, it is actually part of the Helsinkis outdoor area.
The sand on the beach is very fine and the water is great for splashing around. At first, the beach seems small, but it is over 50 meters wide and "hooks" around a small peninsula.
Compared to many other beaches in Espoo, Luukki has a unique feature - hectares of grassy areas for picnicking or outdoor activities.
There are also barbecue shelters in the outdoor area, about 50 meters from the beach.
There are plenty of changing rooms nearby.
Although Lake Luukki is not very large, it is still very beautiful.
The other photos were taken in the summer of 2021, but I decided to include this photo from about 10 years ago because it's nice. Sometimes I update my photo series, especially if the lighting was bad the first time or if I had an older camera.
Information about the Beach of Luukki
- Address: Luukinranta, Espoo. But cars must be parked at the paid parking lots at the end of Luukintie.
- Facilities: Changing rooms and a restroom. In the outdoor area, there are barbecue shelters, a café-restaurant at the mansion, and more.
- Tips for swimmers: The lake is a beautiful, almost natural, sandy-bottomed lake. The beach faces southwest, so the evening sun shines beautifully.
