Viewpoints in Espoo: Kimlahti viewpoint

Kimlahti viewpoint, Espoo.

One magnificent viewpoint in Espoo can be found deep in the recesses of Suinonsalmi. When you travel as far east as you can along Matasaarentie, right next to Suvisaaristo, you will find great views to the north from the cliffs.

I don't know what this peninsula is called, so let me know if it has an established name. I decided to call it the Kimlahti viewpoint.

This picture is roughly to the northeast - directly ahead are the Suomenoja power plant and to the right, the apartment buildings of Matinkylä.

This view is approximately eastward. Behind the trees is a boat route, and then the islands belong to Suvisaaristo.

This picture is directly west. In the background are the forests of Suinonsalmi. A few hundred meters from this spot was once Mataskär ski jump, more on that in the Lost Espoo collection.

On the way back to Matasaarentie, there are also nice views.

You can partially follow the Suinonsalmi nature trail on the way here.
