The Beaches of Siuntio: Nummijärvi

Nummijärvi beach is located in Siuntio, near the Lohja border. The shallow sandy beach is excellent for children.

The beach also features a stylish pier. It's about thirty meters from the spot where the previous photo was taken.

This lake is also part of a family story. My grandfather grew up along Veijalantie. His father would gather the village boys for a summer trip. They walked four or five kilometers to the Nummijärvi cliffs, swam, and camped on the cliffs opposite the beach. They brought mats to lounge on during the day and wrap up in at night. Apparently, it was fun, and there were plenty of mosquitoes.

You can also wade in. The pier is further back. I visited here during the July 2019 heatwave, and the water was warm.

There are a couple of outhouses hidden in the woods.

The parking lot has plenty of space.

You can reach the beach from the parking lot via a narrow path.
