The Beaches of Turku: Brinkhall

The small but charming Brinkhall Beach is located in Turku, on the shore of Lake Kakskerta. The location is exotic, about ten kilometers south of the center of Turku, in the middle of an island in the Kakskerta Sea.

You can also jump in, even though there isn't a tower. Would you call this a diving dock?

It was a hot spring day. A few minutes after taking these pictures, I packed my camera in the car and almost ran into the lake. I haven't swum in such warm lake water in a long time.

Services include a changing room, trash can, and an outhouse.

There is an impressive rock next to the beach.

The rock offers beautiful views.

Others have also noticed that it's a nice place to spend time.

On the way from the parking lot to the beach, there is an old root cellar along the path. This is an old manor area, and Brinkhall Manor is within walking distance. Brinkhall is known to many from the 1990s finnish TV series "Hovimäki." 

The distance from the parking lot to the beach is a few hundred meters.

• Tips for swimmers: Warm water, at least when I visited. The beach deepens gradually, so it's suitable for the little ones but also for swimming.
