The Beaches of Helsinki: Tuorinniemi
Welcome to explore a gem of Helsinki beaches. Tuorinniemi beach is located in Herttoniemi, actually just south of Herttoniemenranta. The gently sloping beach is a great place to spend the day.
The tide has stranded this boat on the shore, and there it has stayed.
Note the design-inspired showers in this and the next picture. The same design is used for the pier.
Tuorinniemi is also known as Herttoniemi beach.
The beach is right next to the Herttoniemenranta residential area, with only a cozy sports park in between. Among Helsinki beaches, the closest in style is probably the Aurinkolahti beach with its beach boulevards.

... which has an unofficial barbecue spot. In the background, there's a design object whose purpose I couldn’t figure out.
The rocks offer great views down to the beach. I didn’t spend time here as a teenager, but I can imagine it’s nice to sit on the warm beach rocks on a cooling evening.
