The Beaches of Siuntio: Störsvik sandpit
Störsvik's sandpit is located in Siuntio. However, it is such a fine place that the beach is also called the most popular beach in Kirkkonummi. Locals reportedly call this Pikkala pit.
I guess it's also a quite popular beach for people from Espoo. The first person I met here was a colleague from the Espoo Cultural Committee.
The water is clean and, I understand, always warm. Although the water is a few meters deep in the middle, there is not that much of it, and the sun can warm it practically all day. I haven't swum in such warm water for a long time. Although in July 2018, there was no shortage of warmth. This evening was one of the finest of my summer.
The evening sun shines nicely on the beach. About 100 meters back from here is a seashore with a small, unofficial beach.
You can swim from different parts of the pond. The southern shore has the smoothest sandy beach, but swimming is possible elsewhere too. I didn't go all the way to the opposite shore.
