The Beaches of Turku: Ispoinen

The beautiful Ispoinen Beach is located by the sea in Turku, a couple of kilometers south of the city center. The beach is popular and offers excellent services.

On the right is a building maintained by the Turku Winter Swimmers. It has a café, sauna, and you can even hold meetings there.

From the end of the pier, you can apparently jump in. I don't know the depth, as I didn't swim near the pier.

The beach faces west, so the evening sun shines nicely here. Although this beach is practically never in the shade.

The beach continues right up to the rocky cliffs. On the rocks, you can sunbathe and enjoy the scenery.

The beach also has lifeguard supervision.

A playground for children.

The tall building visible in the background is near the Port of Turku. Next to it is Turku Castle, and the city center is about a kilometer away.

There is plenty of parking space at the top of the hill.

• Services: Changing rooms, toilets, pier, playground, café, and (paid) sauna. Possibly more.
• Tips for swimmers: One of Turku's top beaches, a great place. The beach faces west, so the evening sun shines nicely. Since the place is open, the sun shines there practically all day. There is a clearly marked shallow area for children, and older ones can conveniently go deeper.
