Maahisenkierros: the Nuuksio Accessible Outdoor Trail

Nuuksio now features a new accessible outdoor trail called Maahisenkierros. From Solvalla, near the Haltia Nature Center, you can access this trail, which leads to a high observation deck. As a teaser, I won’t start the photo series with a parking lot picture but instead give you a taste of what can be found along the trail.

But let's start the story from the beginning. Here’s the guide sign cavalcade along Nuuksiontie.

Haltia's parking lots are also helpful if you want to visit Maahisenkierros.

The trail is wide, and access is easy even for wheelchairs.

Let’s add a bit of art: this combination of a bench and a tree is quite impressive. I’d make one myself if I could.

At the southern end of the trail, there is a beautiful observation deck.

This picture shows well that in addition to being impressive, deep, and long, Lake Nuuksio is also narrow.

The return route wound a bit “further back” from Solvalla's perspective. The Nuuksio lake plateau is also rich in small bogs.
