Hietaranta beach is practically in central Helsinki. It is the most popular and best-equipped beach in Helsinki. The beach is also known as Hietsu and Hietaniemi beach.

The beach of Laaksolahti is located on the shoores of Pitkäjärvi. The beach looks small, but is surprisingly big. There is a a volleyball court, basketball arena, childrens playground and other services nearby.

Kivenlahti Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Espoo. It is located in a peaceful area right next to residential buildings. The beach is also close to my heart, as I spent a month here working as a lifeguard in my distant Baywatch youth.

One of the finest viewpoints in the Helsinki metropolitan area is Vuosaarenhuippu, in english probably Vuosaari Landfill Hill. At its highest point, the hill rises to 65 meters.

Welcome to Leppävaara in Espoo. Just north of the station, about half a kilometer from Sello, you'll find fortifications that are presumably called the Leppävaara Fortifications. They are part of the fortifications surrounding Helsinki, built in the 1910s.

Municipal Elections 2025
I am a candidate in the municipal elections in April 2025. The main election day is Sunday, April 13, 2025. Early voting in Finland is from April 2 to 8, and abroad from April 2 to 5.

Nuuksio now features a new accessible outdoor trail called Maahisenkierros. From Solvalla, near the Haltia Nature Center, you can access this trail, which leads to a high observation deck. On a hot summer day, Lasitehdas beach (in english Glass factorys beach) in Lohja is the perfect place to visit. At the tip of Lasitehtaanniemi, there is a pier and a charming diving tower.

The idyllic Liessaaren beach is located in Lohja, on the "city side" of the island of the same name. Liessaari also features a nature trail, lovely scenery, and an old mine.

Pähkinäniemi beach is located in Lohja, on the shore of Lake Lohja. The beach is not very large. As a shallow beach, it is well-suited for children, while older swimmers might prefer to take a dip from the pier.
