Nikinmäki beach is located in East Vantaa, along the Keravanjoki river. As you can see from the picture, the beach is small. Apparently, people have also been spending time by the fire.

Kuusijärvi beach is in many ways one of the finest in the capital region. First of all, it's big. Secondly, it has cafeteria food, changing rooms, open water swimming and much more. Thirdly, there are clearly defined areas for children, like the one in front. 

Vetokannas beach can be found in Kaivoksela, Vantaa. The former sand pit has been restored into a beach that is in many ways one of the finest in the Helsinki metropolitan area.

In the south-western corner of Lauttasaari, Länsiulapanniemi, there is a nice little beach. Surrounded by beautiful cliffs. Lauttasaari is a island west the city of Helsinki. You can get here with metro. Koivusaari metro-station is some 700 north from here.

Welcome to the Glims River in Espoo. Glims together with its sister river Gloms form the Espoo River. This is a short story of a walk along the Glims River, from the bottom of Lake Pitkäjärvi to Lake Kirkkojärvi. I made the trip on the last day of April 2016. The sun was shining and the weather was good, and after spring rains the water was flowing.

Tremanskärri's magnificent marsh and nature trail can be found in northern Espoo, right next to Lake Kalajärvi. Walking along the long trees in the bog, you feel as if you are somewhere else than the Helsinki metropolitan area.

One of the most idyllic beaches in Helsinki can be found in Pirkkola. In the middle of the sports park and outdoor area is "Plotti". It is nice swimming pond with clear water

The Aurinkolahti beach in Vuosaari is one of the finest beaches in Helsinki, the capital region and Finland, and is nicely connected to the Aurinkolahti residential area. Vuosaari is located in the eastern parts of Helsinki.

Mustikkamaa is one of my favourite streets in Helsinki. A large and well-equipped beach is right next to the city centre. But a trip through Kulosaari to the archipelago forcibly "breaks away from everyday life". Nowadays, you can also get to Mustikkamaa via the new "Isoisänsilta" bridge..

Oittaa nature trail is a part of Oittaa outdoor recreational area. The one and a half kilometer long trail runs mostly through Oittaa stream valley nature reserve.

The nature trail at Villa Elfvik is a beautiful route in Espoo's Laajalahti nature reserve. The actual circular route is probably not much longer than a few kilometers, but there are some great routes heading south towards Otaniemi.

Hanikka nature trail is perhaps the most versatile of Espoo's nature trails. The five-kilometer route features seashores, rocks and hills, forests, and duckboards.

Pohjoinen Myllyjärvi is located in Lahnus, northern Espoo. The small lake is partly a nature reserve.

Kallvik beach is located on the shore of Espoonlahti, next to the Saunalahti residential area. The beach faces directly west, so the evening sun shines here for a long time.

Luukki Beach is located in the Luukkaa outdoor area in North Espoo. Although it is in Espoo, it is actually part of the Helsinkis outdoor area.

On Nouttalahti you can find a small, unofficial beach on the seashore. Espoos 40 kilometres long seashore walkway goes through this beach.

Hannusjärvi is a small lake on southern parts of Espoo. The isn't an official beach there. But on the western side of the lake there is a small pier that local use.
